Thank you for a great year! It’s been a busy and eventful 2024 at Clive’s Chemist, The Happy Chemist.
Let’s start with a big thank you to everyone who joined us at our annual Christmas party. As always, it was a very popular couple of days, with lots of people turning up. We hope you all took away some precious Christmas memories – and some great gifts and bargains. It was such a good vibe and we had a lot of fun.
Nice also to know our fashion sense is appreciated. This guy was raving about our shirts, so we gave him one! We think he’s rocking it. What do you think?
Besides the fun and games, probably the biggest challenge of 2024 was the refit. We are grateful for your patience and support during that time. Although it was hard work, it was well worth it. It’s given us the capacity to increase the services we offer and we’ve received loads of positive comments about how the pharmacy feels cleaner, nicer and more organised.
It’s been great to see so many people taking advantage of our consultation services. People have been loving our new main consultation room. It’s much bigger, making it wheelchair and walker friendly and roomy enough to accommodate more than one person, great for families.
On the prescription front, things have been busier than ever. The refit doubled the size of our dispensary, so we’ve been able to manage more prescriptions than before.
And on that note, we’ve been sad to say goodbye to one of our pharmacists, Mark, though we wish him all the best for his new adventures in Australia. Mark was a popular member of the team and well loved by our Wainuiomata community. We haven’t found a replacement for him yet, which has put us a little under the pump. We are actively recruiting right now and we’re hopeful we’ll have a new member of staff on board early in the new year.
Another highlight of the year was an unexpected visit from the Hurricanes. The team was in Wainui for the day lending a hand to various community projects including at the local marae, Barnados and helping with food parcels and the garden at Pataka kai. When they came for a wander down the main street, a few of them popped in to say hello and before we knew it, the whole team was here.
Clive was going to give some advice next about limiting drinking and good eating but who wants to hear that at this time of year? You all know, so just have a good time and look after each other. And if you need any help over the break, we’re here for you. We are only closed on the statutory holidays. So, don’t panic if you can’t get in to see your doctor. We can help you with a range of health issues, so pop in and see us.
Oh and one last thing, don’t leave your prescription until the last minute! Order your prescriptions this week if you’re going to be away.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Let’s also take a moment to cherish the memories of those who are no longer with us, keeping them close to our hearts during this special time. Have a safe holiday season everyone.
